Legacy Cotons breeds coton de Tulear on ten acres just east of Norman, Oklahoma, about 30 minutes south of Oklahoma City. The program is run by Tiffany Laitner, whose background in dogs spans well beyond the coton — she began working with animals at age seven and went on to train dogs professionally, co-found a breed rescue organization, and show dogs across multiple breeds before focusing on cotons.

Tiffany began showing cotons in 2012, though her introduction to the breed came earlier, in 2008. The program's name reflects a deliberate philosophy: each litter is planned to honor the breeders who shaped the modern coton de Tulear, with the goal of producing dogs that are healthy, structurally sound, and even-tempered. All adults in the program are health tested for genetic conditions, and puppies are temperament tested and raised using Dr. Carmen Battaglia's Early Neurological Stimulation method to support calm, well-adjusted development.
