Lazy 2 R Mini Herefords

Lazy 2 R Mini Herefords raises miniature Hereford cattle in Birch Tree, Missouri, a small community in the Ozarks about two hours south of Springfield. Harold Ryan started the operation primarily so his grandchildren would have gentle cattle to show and raise as projects, and the program grew from there into a broader appreciation for what the breed offers in agriculture.

The herd focuses on a size range that aims for cows reaching a mature hip height of 40 to 44 inches and bulls between 42 and 45 inches, a target the farm describes as large enough to be productive yet small enough to suit homesteads and small acreage operations. Gentle disposition and usefulness are priorities: calves are halter broken and handled before leaving the farm. The operation also includes Panda cattle alongside its miniature Hereford cattle for sale in Missouri.

Registry memberships include the American Hereford Association, the International Miniature Cattle Breeding Registry, and the Miniature Hereford Breeders Association. The farm actively encourages youth involvement in agriculture and has built a connection to 4-H and FFA programs through its cattle program.
