Larson's Legacy Aussome Aussie Kennels, run by Chantelle Mast, focuses on nonworking line Australian shepherds in Durand, Wisconsin, in the Chippewa Valley region roughly an hour southeast of Eau Claire.

The program was established in 2014 under the mentorship of an experienced breeder, and its core goal is producing Australian shepherd puppies in Wisconsin that are calm, mild in temperament, and well suited to family life rather than to herding or farm work. Chantelle came to breeding with a background as a professional dog trainer, giving her hands-on experience with a wide range of breeds before committing specifically to refining the nonworking line of the Australian shepherd.

Puppies are socialized and handled from their first day, and the kennel introduces basic obedience, house training, and crate training before any puppy goes home. Some of the adult dogs also take part in volunteer therapy work, reflecting the even, settled nature the program selects for. Lifetime support is offered to families after placement, and the kennel keeps litter numbers small each year to maintain that level of involvement with each dog.
