Lambert Love Ranch

Lambert Love Ranch Scottish Highland cattle, Mahaska, Kansas, serve farmers and enthusiasts across southeast Kansas and the Kansas City area. Lambert Love Ranch has been raising Scottish Highland cattle for several years and follows guidelines from the American Highland Cattle Association for regular health screenings, genetic tracking and careful record-keeping. The herd grazes on diverse pastures enriched through rotational grazing and cover crops, and calves remain with their dams to promote early social bonds.

Owner Douglas Lambert applies low-stress handling techniques and provides sheltered paddocks at night to ensure consistent health and gentle temperaments. Feed is supplemented seasonally with locally milled grains to balance the rich forage and animals receive routine hoof and dental care. Natural water sources and shelter trees in each paddock help mimic the breed’s native highland environment. Soil tests are conducted annually to guide pasture improvements and maintain balanced forage.
