Lafayette Gardens

Lafayette Gardens breeds Katahdin sheep in Napoleon, MO, and serves Lafayette County and the Kansas City area. With more than a decade of experience, the farm adheres to national breed association guidelines and maintains regular health screenings for parasites, internal conditions and hoof health. Flocks rotate across lush pastures and are handled gently from an early age to encourage friendly, calm temperaments and resilience to local climates.

Founder Jonathan Arndt established the operation on historic farmland, combining traditional pasture management with humane welfare practices and soil conservation methods. Bedding is refreshed daily and dietary plans are carefully tailored to support steady growth, optimal reproduction and overall wellbeing. During lambing season, each ewe receives individual attention with daily checks and a sheltered lambing pen to ensure safe births. Records of lineage and performance traits are kept to promote sound structure and parasite resistance across generations.
