Kristen Terra raises Nigerian dwarf dairy goats at Terra Bella Ranch in Fincastle, Virginia, situated in the Botetourt County area of the Roanoke Valley, less than ten minutes from I-81. The farm began building its registered Nigerian dwarf herd in early 2011, starting with grade Nubians and Nigerians before transitioning to a fully registered program with both ADGA and the American Goat Society. All animals leaving the ranch carry dual registration through both organizations.

The breeding focus centers on producing true dairy animals with strong temperaments — animals that perform in the show ring, hold up in DHIR milk testing, and work as therapy animals. The herd participates in DHIR performance programs through both ADGA and AGS, and began annual linear appraisal sessions in 2019 to evaluate and improve body conformation. Homebred animals from the ranch have found homes throughout the country and have contributed positively to other dairy goat crosses and Nigerian dwarf herds.
