Knuckleheads Neos, run by Shanna Jones out of Cairo, Missouri, focuses on AKC Neapolitan mastiffs bred for both the show ring and home life. Cairo sits in central Missouri, roughly 30 miles northeast of Columbia, putting the program within reach of a broad swath of the Midwest.

Shanna and her family have been actively involved with Neapolitan mastiffs since 2012 and have owned the breed since 1999, guided along the way by two mentors who together bring more than 30 years of combined experience in the breed. That depth of guidance informs a program aimed at producing dogs that are structurally sound, temperamentally stable, and competitive in the AKC conformation ring. Health testing is part of the routine, and written health guarantees and breeder support extend through the lifetime of each puppy placed.

The dogs are raised in the home on a small seven-acre farm, where puppies grow up underfoot alongside the family. Individual kennels inside the house give each Neo its own space while keeping them close to daily household activity — an approach well suited to a breed that bonds tightly with its people. French bulldog puppies in Missouri round out the program as a secondary breed. Knuckleheads Neos is also recognized by the AKC as a breeder of merit.
