Kismet Acres Farm

Kismet Acres Farm alpacas in Capon Bridge, West Virginia, in the Eastern Panhandle near Winchester. Elaine and Dave Lawson have been raising alpacas on this property since 2015 and maintain active membership in the Alpaca Owners Association, performing routine health screening, parasite management and fleece evaluations. They track pedigrees and fiber profiles in detailed records, ensuring each animal meets breed standards for both temperament and wool quality.

Animals live in rotational pasture with open-sided shelters, enjoy daily human interaction and regular health checks, and are shorn annually to promote comfort and fleece health. The farm’s small huacaya and suri alpacas are selected for diverse fiber grades and calm dispositions that have earned respect among local knitters and spinners. Visitors can arrange farm tours by appointment to see breeding stock up close and learn hands-on techniques for shearing and yarn preparation.
