Kellogg's Alpacas

Kellogg's Alpacas raises alpacas in Scio, New York, a small farming community in the hills of Allegany County, roughly 20 miles southeast of Olean. Phil and Robin Kellogg have been running the farm since around 2003, starting with just three animals before growing the herd over the years.

The Kelloggs handle much of the farm work themselves, including shearing and herd health management. Males and females are pastured separately, and fleece is graded and sorted after each shearing — the softest fiber going toward clothing, while coarser portions are used for items like dryer balls and shoe insoles. The herd includes alpacas of various colors, some carrying champion bloodlines.

Fiber production is central to the operation. The farm processes its fleece into 100% alpaca and blended yarns, working with local crafters and a small mill. Blends incorporating bamboo, silk, merino wool, and other materials are among the offerings. A farm store on the property carries handmade goods produced largely from the herd's own fiber. Those looking for alpacas for sale in New York will find a small, hands-on program where fiber quality and animal care are closely connected.
