Katie Dean, horses, Lake Isabella, CA, Kern County and the southern Sierra Nevada near Bakersfield. She has been raising horses for several years and maintains memberships with equine associations that emphasize health testing and welfare standards.

At her ranch, foals and yearlings live on open pasture with round-the-clock access to shelter and are introduced to handling and ground-work early in life to build confidence and good manners. A commitment to low-stress training and thoughtful socialization supports each horse’s mental and physical well-being.

Several animals from Katie Dean’s program have been seen in local trail riding events and therapy clinics, reflecting a balanced approach that values versatility alongside solid foundations. Mares and stallions are housed separately but receive daily turnout together in small groups during nonbreeding seasons to encourage natural social bonds. Routine farrier visits and annual veterinary checkups are part of the program to uphold health standards across all ages.
