Joyful Llama Ranch

Joyful Llama Ranch raises ccara (classic) llamas in West Linn, Oregon, about 15 miles south of Portland. Owner Joyce O'Halloran got her start with llamas in the fall of 1996, when the property she purchased came with 13 llamas — most of them classics — and the breed has been central to her program ever since.

Beyond breeding, Joyce founded the Spring Creek Sproingers, a 4-H llama club that has given suburban and urban youth around Clackamas County hands-on experience with the animals through a llama leasing program. That community involvement reflects a long-standing commitment to connecting people with classic llamas for sale in Oregon and to the broader culture around the breed.

The ranch has also explored packing with classics, a natural fit for the ccara type, which Joyce has noted for its practical coat traits suited to outdoor work and trail use.
