JoJo's Hedgies

JoJo’s Hedgies is a breeder of African pygmy hedgehogs in northern Florida near Jacksonville. Thomas Nickerson has been working with these animals for more than a decade, participating in national hedgehog club events and following recommended health-screening protocols. All hedgies are raised in a dedicated indoor habitat with daily handling to promote gentle temperaments and early socialization.

Each litter is monitored closely from birth to weaning, with regular veterinary checks and transparent health updates for prospective owners. Many of their hoglets develop calm temperaments suited for first-time owners and family homes. They specialize in natural color morphs while avoiding overbreeding of rare patterns to maintain genetic health. It’s not unusual for hedgehogs from JoJo’s Hedgies to become gentle ambassadors in classroom visits, reflecting the breeder’s emphasis on varied early experiences. Owners receive detailed guidance on feeding, habitat setup, and deworming schedules, along with ongoing support as their new pets settle in.
