Jackpine Cattle

Jackpine Cattle, Scottish Highland cattle, Makinen, MN, St. Louis County and the Arrowhead region near Duluth. They have been raising Scottish Highland cattle for several years as members of the American Highland Cattle Association and follow recommended health-testing protocols. The pasture-based herd grazes native grasses through spring and summer, and winters in a straw-bedded barn to ensure comfort and strong growth. Owners Douglas and Theresa Ahlgren focus on gentle handling and early socialization so the cattle develop calm temperaments.
