The ranch's approach centers on acquiring strong genetics and breeding to the Scottish Highland cattle standard. Its current herd sire, Big Ridge Voodoo Magic (AHCA #51,522), is a well-credentialed bull purposefully selected to improve maternal characteristics, feet, conformation, and substance, with calves consistently ranging between 50 and 60 pounds. Voodoo Magic earned a 1st Place People's Choice Favorite Sire Award at the 2019 International Virtual Highland Cattle Show.

The fold grazes on 143 acres of native pasture, and the ranch's cattle are registered with the American Highland Cattle Association.
