Hornung Red Angus
Hornung Red Angus has been raising red angus cattle in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, since 2002, when Andy Hornung purchased his first red angus heifer — SRN Copper Queen M308 — and built a foundation that the program still traces back to today. Located just southeast of Madison, the operation has grown into a family endeavor run by Andy, his wife Alisa, and their daughter Addyson.
The herd's goal centers on producing females that are fertile, structurally sound, and even-tempered, with strong maternal traits that carry across different production environments. The Cassidy cow family has become a cornerstone of the breeding program alongside other well-established foundation lines. Hornung Red Angus takes part in the annual Badgerland Bull Sale and is a member of the Wisconsin Red Angus Association, connecting Wisconsin-area cattle producers with red angus genetics suited to a range of operations, from seedstock to commercial herds.
