Homestead Arts Farm raises huacaya alpacas on a 32-acre property in Pine Island, Minnesota, situated in the rolling farmland of southeastern Minnesota, roughly 20 miles north of Rochester. Mark and Lori Grimes started the herd in 2019 with their first four alpacas, and both the animals and the facilities have grown steadily since then.

The farm holds membership in the Great Lakes Alpaca Association and MOPACA, connecting its program to a broader regional network of alpaca breeders in the Midwest. Those looking for alpacas for sale in Minnesota will find a herd with attention paid to fleece quality, conformation, and disposition, with individual animals noted for soft, crimpy fleece and good staple length.

Beyond breeding, Homestead Arts Farm operates as a working homestead in the fullest sense. The property also runs an alpaca adoption program that allows people to sponsor individual animals and arrange visits to help care for and halter-walk their sponsored alpaca.
