Hindsight Farms

Hindsight Farms is a breeder of Scottish highland cattle in Saranac Lake, NY, in the Adirondack region near Lake Placid. Owned by Christopher W. Covert, Jr., it holds membership in the Highland Cattle Society of America and adheres to a comprehensive health-screening protocol. With more than a decade of breeding experience, the farm participates in regional registry programs and keeps detailed records on lineage and genetic traits.

Calves are raised on pasture with regular handling to encourage a gentle temperament, and winter housing includes climate-controlled stalls that mimic a natural shelter. The farm follows low-stress handling techniques influenced by traditional practices passed down through the Covert family.

Hindsight Farms maintains a small herd to focus on individual animal welfare. Their cattle have often been featured at the county fair for consistent horn quality and thick coats valued by fiber artisans.
