Hill's Highlands

Hill’s Highlands, Scottish highland cattle, Powell, WY, Park County and Yellowstone region near Cody. The Hills have bred Scottish highland cattle for over a decade and maintain membership in the American Highland Cattle Association while following recommended health testing for hips and eyes.

Their herd grazes year-round on open pastures, and calves are accustomed to regular handling to foster a calm temperament. Set on historic ranch land first settled in the 1920s, Hill’s Highlands blends traditional methods with attentive care as a small family operation. Their breeding decisions prioritize longevity and gentle dispositions, with each animal evaluated for structural soundness. Seasonal shelter is provided in a spacious barn, ensuring comfort during winter months while preserving access to fresh air.

One recent visitor noted the visible care in the herd’s calm behavior and the farm’s welcoming atmosphere. Manure is composted to enrich pastures, contributing to soil health.
