Hidden River Retrievers

Hidden River Retrievers raises Labrador retrievers in Angier, North Carolina, about 30 miles south of Raleigh in the heart of the Research Triangle region. The program is run by Mimms Vanmeter on 60 acres of secluded land that gives the dogs room to move and thrive in a natural setting.

The operation has been producing Labrador retrievers for over 20 years and breeds both English and American lines, offering families a choice in build and temperament. Health testing is a cornerstone of the program: all dams carry the best available OFA ratings and clear genetic panels, while sires are held to the same health and OFA standards before being used for breeding. Genetic screening covers more than 200 breed-specific panels, with a stated goal of producing the true all-purpose Labrador retriever.

Hidden River Retrievers holds memberships with the AKC, the AKC Breeders with Heart program, Good Dog, and Purina Pro Club.
