Karen Howard has been operating the program since 2001, drawing from both domestic and international breeding lines — including imports sourced from kennels in Ukraine and Kazakhstan — to maintain a genetically diverse foundation.

The program holds pedigrees with Grand Champion and Champion confirmation titles, and some dogs in the breeding pool also carry hunting titles. Health testing is a central focus: all breeding dogs are cleared through OFA for hips, elbows, cardiac, and full dentition, and DNA-tested for EIC, CNM, PRA-PRCD, Stargardt disease, Cystinuria, Copper Toxicosis, and the dilute gene. Each puppy receives a full veterinary health exam in the 24-to-72-hour window before going home.
