Heartland Criations Alpacas LLC

Heartland Criations Alpacas LLC has been raising suri alpacas in Rio, Illinois since 2000, making it one of the longer-running alpaca programs available to buyers searching for suri alpacas in Illinois. Owner Kathy Albert operates the farm in west-central Illinois, about forty minutes south of the Quad Cities and fifty minutes west of Peoria.

The herd numbers around 50 suri alpacas and llamas, and all animals are halter trained and handled daily. State-of-the-art on-farm facilities are maintained with the animals' comfort and health as a priority. The farm also processes fiber directly from its own herd, producing yarn and a range of alpaca goods through an on-site farm store.

Education is a core part of what Heartland Criations offers alongside its livestock. Farm visits are welcome, giving prospective buyers and curious visitors a hands-on look at the animals and husbandry practices firsthand.
