Haystack Acres Bernese Mountain Dogs & Pembroke Welsh Corgis, owned by Lynn Hindman, has been breeding and showing AKC-registered Bernese mountain dogs and Pembroke Welsh corgis from a 40-acre property in Longmont, Colorado — just north of Boulder and the greater Denver metro — since the late 1990s. The program grew out of Lynn's three decades of experience breeding, training, and showing horses, and that background in livestock management shapes how the kennel operates today.

The 40-acre property gives dogs access to large paddocks, pastures, and runs, while puppies are whelped in the house and raised in a family environment from birth. Haystack Acres holds an annual inspection through Colorado's Pet Animal Care Facilities Act (PACFA) and has maintained good standing with the Colorado Department of Agriculture since 2012.

Health testing is a central focus of the Bernese mountain dog program. The kennel uses PennHIP evaluations rather than OFA for hip screening, with its dogs reportedly scoring in the top 5 percent of the entire BMD database. Embark genetic testing is used to screen for breed-associated conditions including degenerative myelopathy, SODIB, and von Willebrand's disease, and the multi-generational breeding records allow the program to track cancer incidence across lines. For Pembroke Welsh corgi puppies in Colorado, the bloodlines draw on U.S. and international champions, including working lines active in herding, agility, conformation, and therapy work.
