Halligan Sheep Company

Halligan Sheep Company, Romney sheep, Winchester, KY, Clark County and the Bluegrass region near Lexington. The farm has been raising Romney sheep for more than ten years, is registered with the National Sheep Improvement Program, and holds active membership in state and regional breeding associations. Annual health screening includes scrapie genotype testing and routine foot rot prevention to maintain flock well-being. Rotational grazing on fenced pastures and regular handling help sheep develop resilient health and gentle temperaments.

Ryan and Allison welcome visitors to learn about fiber production and sustainable land stewardship on their family farm. Many fiber artists value the consistent fleece density and soft luster of Halligan flocks for spinning and weaving. Its involvement in community fairs has earned respect for honest practices and attentive animal care. A recently built lambing barn includes heated bedding areas and ample space for mothers and lambs to bond safely.
