H & R Ranch

H & R Ranch, managed by Holly Schafer, raises miniature Hereford cattle across operations in Ardmore, Oklahoma and Heath, Texas, putting the program within reach of buyers throughout the Southern Plains region, roughly an hour south of Oklahoma City.

The ranch maintains a strong focus on polled miniature Herefords, with the entire herd DNA tested for both parentage verification and horn/poll status through the American Hereford Association. Full DNA panels, including MSUD testing, are run on every calf prior to sale, and polled animals come with a horn/poll test documenting whether each animal carries homozygous or heterozygous polled genetics. Registered offspring are AHA and ABHA permitted for AI/ET use.

H & R Ranch has a show record that includes a Grand Champion Bull at the 2018 North American International Livestock Exposition, co-bred with Straitside Ranch. The program prioritizes cattle that are sound, correctly marked, calm, and built to compete at the show level, while also producing miniature Hereford cattle for sale suited to family farms and small acreage operations in Oklahoma and beyond. All calves leave with full registration papers in hand, no pending paperwork.
