Grazing Hills Ranch
Grazing Hills Ranch raises alpacas in Viola, Idaho, situated in the rolling Palouse region about ten minutes north of Moscow, Idaho. Cory and Katie Dewinkle now steward a farm with deep family roots — the operation traces back to 1993, when Katie's grandmother purchased the ranch's first alpaca, and the family went on to become one of the earliest alpaca farms in Idaho. Katie took over the property in 2015, carrying forward a childhood spent halter-training animals, attending regional shows, and working the original on-site country store.
The ranch is a member of the Alpaca Owners Association and has attended herd management seminars and a neonatal clinic, with an experienced camelid veterinarian at Washington State University's College of Veterinary Medicine available for specialty care nearby. Daily handling of the herd is a deliberate priority, and boarded animals are managed with the same individual attention given to the ranch's own animals.
For anyone exploring alpacas for sale in Idaho, Grazing Hills Ranch offers a multigenerational perspective on the animals and the land, along with experience supporting first-time owners interested in starting their own herds.
