Gloaming Nubians

Gloaming Nubians raises Nubian dairy goats in Hampstead, New Hampshire, about 30 miles north of Manchester. Carolyn and Bud Bergkuist have been working with the breed since 1982, with a consistent focus on structural correctness and strong milk production.

The herd participates in DHIR milk recording and annual linear appraisal. Doe kids in the program are largely drawn from does scoring 87 and higher at appraisal, with mammary scores of Very Good or Excellent. Many of the older does have earned their milk star designation through recorded production. The herd milks year-round, and does in the program frequently sustain extended lactations beyond 400 days.
