Glacier's Edge Farm

Glacier’s Edge Farm, Scottish Highland cattle, Bloomer, WI, in Chippewa County and the Chippewa Valley near Eau Claire, is owned by Joe and Heather Olson. They have raised Scottish Highland cattle for several years with active membership in national breed associations and regular health screenings that follow established protocols.

Their herd grazes on native pastures using rotational grazing methods that support soil health and forage diversity. Each animal benefits from daily hands-on care focused on low-stress handling and early socialization. Updated barns and open-sided shelters provide comfortable bedding and protection during colder months. They also work with a local veterinarian to maintain herd health and uphold strict biosecurity standards.

They support local 4-H and FFA programs by offering their cattle as examples for students exploring agricultural science. Occasional open farm days give the community a chance to observe herd management and learn about sustainable livestock farming.
