Full Armor Farm
Full Armor Farm raises Scottish highland cattle on 100 acres in New Vineyard, Maine, in the rural foothills of Franklin County, roughly 30 miles from Farmington. Ryan and Stephanie Stevens established the farm after purchasing the property in 2016 and relocating to Maine in early 2018, building up their operation steadily from the ground up.
The highlands at Full Armor Farm are raised on a strictly grass-fed program — no grain. The cattle are fed natural grasses, hay, and garden and orchard supplements, none of which are treated with pesticides or chemicals. Anyone looking for grass-fed highland cattle in Maine will find a small-scale, direct-to-community program here, where the herd is managed with a close eye on what goes into the land and the animals.
The farm is a true working homestead. Beyond the cattle, the Stevens family maintains a sugarbush, an apple orchard with trees dating back 60 to 70 years, and seasonal vegetable production — all of it woven together on the same land.
