Fulcrum Farms raises huacaya alpacas in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, located in the greater Cleveland area of Northeast Ohio. Chris and Amber Gurko started the operation in 2022, growing what began as a single alpaca into a breeding program centered on fleece quality and genetic diversity.

The farm itself spans 47 acres, with 10 acres of pasture that Chris and Amber have been actively revitalizing through soil testing, strategic soil amendments, and regenerative agriculture practices. Infrastructure development for the alpaca herd is tied to that soil restoration timeline, reflecting a deliberate, long-term approach to herd management.

Amber's background interest in genetics shapes the program's direction. Fulcrum Farms focuses on producing alpacas for sale in Ohio with standout fiber characteristics alongside distinctive color patterns — specifically roan, appaloosa, and harlequin expressions. All animals undergo genetic type testing to better understand how genes influence color and pattern inheritance, contributing to broader knowledge of alpaca genetics. The farm is also a member of the Alpaca Owners Association (AOA).
