Fox Tribe K9

Fox Tribe K9, based in Boydton, Virginia, breeds Tibetan mastiffs alongside English mastiffs, German shepherd dogs, and bichons frises on a working farm in the southern part of the state, roughly two hours southwest of Richmond. The program was founded by Missy Fox and her husband, a Marine Corps sergeant, whose shared background in rescue animal care and service-dog work shaped the direction of every breed they raise.

The Tibetan mastiff program draws from established show and working lines, including dogs from the Dawa kennel and a female whose dam was the first Tibetan mastiff bitch to earn Best of Show at an AKC event. Health testing for the mastiff dogs includes PennHIP hip evaluations, OFA elbow scores, cardiac clearances, and genetic mutation panels. The German shepherd line traces to Czech search-and-rescue bloodlines and is developed specifically around assistance, police, and protection work, with puppies, young dogs, and finished adult working dogs all part of that program.

The bichon frise side of the operation, known internally as the Volpe Tribu Bichon program, focuses on conformation and junior handler experience, and was built on a select foundation from champion stock.
