Fox Meadow Icelandic Sheepdogs And Chinooks

Fox Meadow Icelandic Sheepdogs and Chinooks, run by Jo Ann Secondino out of Union Bridge, Maryland, has been breeding Icelandic sheepdogs for nearly two decades. The program operates in Carroll County, roughly an hour northwest of Baltimore.

Secondino has been deeply involved with the Icelandic sheepdog community at a national level, having served the Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America in multiple roles including Vice President, Health and Genetics Chairman, and Breeding Review and Compliance Committee member. She also founded and led the AISC, the ISAA's largest regional chapter on the East Coast. Her program adheres to the breed club's breeding guidelines and reflects an ongoing focus on canine genetics and inherited health conditions.

The kennel has a notable show and working history. Fox Meadow dogs have competed at Westminster and earned AKC conformation titles, and the program has included imports from Iceland and Sweden to broaden the gene pool. Stud dogs from the program have been the first North American males to sire litters in Europe, with semen collected and shipped internationally. Dogs from the Fox Meadow line have also earned Search and Rescue certifications, performance sport rankings, and have worked with special needs children.

Chinook puppies and Icelandic sheepdog puppies in Maryland round out the program's offerings for those seeking either of these two rare breeds from a program with documented breed club involvement and an international breeding network.
