Fort Fisher Suri Alpacas

Fort Fisher Suri Alpacas has raised suri alpacas in Dryden, Michigan since 2009, when Phil and Connie Fisher deliberately chose the suri over the more common huacaya after researching both varieties. The farm sits about thirty minutes east of Flint, making it one of the more accessible sources of suri alpacas for sale in Michigan for buyers in the greater Detroit metro area.

The operation spans ten acres, and the name itself grew out of family life: with five outdoor-active sons, building forts was a household tradition, and the farm's identity followed naturally. A centrally placed fort structure sits atop the herd sire run-in, positioned so visitors and animals alike share the same open pasture views.

The herd carries a range of natural colors and has earned recognition at the national level, including a Suri Heirloom Fleece Cup win at the AOA National Show. The farm also supports new suri alpaca owners through breeder education, farm tours, and a fiber products line that runs from raw rovings and mill-spun yarn to finished apparel — all sourced from the on-site herd.
