Fischer's Red Angus
Fischer's Red Angus has been raising registered red Angus cattle outside of Harlowton, Montana since 1988, when Ron and Esther Fischer purchased their first five registered cows. The ranch sits just southeast of Harlowton in central Montana's Musselshell River country, roughly two hours east of Great Falls.
What started as a small personal herd has grown steadily over the decades into a program running around 80 registered red Angus females. The operation has been a member of the Montana Red Angus Association since its founding year, and an artificial insemination program has been part of the breeding strategy since 1992.
The cowherd is selected for temperament, growth, and performance, and the cattle are run on native grassland rather than in a pampered setting. The program's philosophy is built around animals that can hold their own in Montana's variable climate. For those searching for red Angus cattle for sale in Montana, the ranch offers yearling bulls and bred females, with the majority of bulls going to commercial cattlemen in the region.
