Feddes Red Angus

Feddes Red Angus has been raising purebred red Angus cattle on the Gallatin Valley plains of Montana since 1991, operating out of Manhattan, roughly 20 miles west of Bozeman.

The ranch is a multi-generational family operation with roots stretching back to 1925, when the Feddes family relocated their ranching operation to the Gallatin Valley from Canada. Today, father and son Chuck and Jake Feddes manage the program together, building on a foundation originally established in Hereford cattle before Chuck transitioned fully to registered red Angus in the early 1990s. That long commitment to the breed earned Chuck and Carol Feddes the Red Angus Association of America's Breeder of the Year honor in 2013.

The program places a strong emphasis on cattle that serve commercial producers, with a focus on quality females — particularly sound udders, feet, and legs — as the backbone of the bull-producing cowherd. Working alongside neighboring red Angus breeders, the operation hosts an annual production sale each spring at the ranch, making Feddes one of the more established sources of red Angus bulls for sale in Montana. The Feddes family also holds active memberships with several cattle industry and agricultural organizations throughout the Gallatin Valley.
