Exoticmirage
Exoticmirage is a British shorthair cattery operated by Kaylen Kokolus in Beaver County, Alberta, about an hour southeast of Edmonton. The cattery is registered with TICA and focuses on producing British shorthair kittens in Canada with an emphasis on health, sound temperament, and a wide range of coat colours.
Kaylen's interest in the breed began in 2017, and the program has since developed a particular focus on solid and bi-colour patterns, including black, blue, cinnamon, lilac, and chocolate. Kittens are raised in the main living areas of the home rather than in separate enclosures, a setup designed to encourage early socialization. All cats are fed premium food and supplements, and the cattery maintains FIV/FeLV-negative status, testing all new cats before they join the existing group.
Health screening is a clear priority: all British shorthairs in the program are tested PKD1 negative and PRA-pd negative, and DNA results through Wisdom Panel are made available for individual cats. Litter numbers are kept deliberately low each year so that every kitten receives consistent attention before going to its new home.
