Egyptian Cotons - Tracy & Kent Mckown

Egyptian Cotons, run by Tracy and Kent McKown, breeds coton de Tulear dogs in Herrin, Illinois, a town in the southernmost stretch of the state long known locally as "Little Egypt" — a region roughly an hour southeast of St. Louis.

The kennel name itself draws from that regional identity. All of the McKowns' adult dogs are AKC champions, and the program has a clear conformation focus: Tracy and Kent began showing cotons as a way to travel and compete alongside their dogs, and that show career has shaped how they select and raise each generation. They are members of the North American Coton Association and hold NACA Code of Ethics breeder status. They have also been members of the United States of America Coton de Tulear Club, where Kent served as Treasurer and Tracy served as Show Chair for the 2nd National Specialty in St. Louis in 2017.
