DJs Classic Alpacas

DJ's Classic Alpacas has been raising huacaya alpacas in Keller, Texas since 2008, when Debbie and Jim Conkle purchased their first animals and transitioned from careers in corporate America to full-time farm life. The farm sits in Keller, a city in the mid-cities corridor between Fort Worth and Dallas, making alpacas in the Dallas-Fort Worth area accessible to a broad community of buyers and enthusiasts.

The Conkles approached the industry deliberately, attending seminars, visiting other farms, and studying the fiber market before committing to the program. That research-first mindset has carried through into how the farm operates, with an emphasis on education alongside animal husbandry. The herd includes huacaya breeding stock — females, males, and herdsires — with fiber production as a central focus of the program.

DJ's Classic Alpacas is also active in the Texas and Oklahoma Alpaca Network (TXOLAN), connecting the farm to the broader regional alpaca community.
