David Buck

David Buck and his partner Tamra have operated Guardians Farm in Southbury, Connecticut since 2014, raising dairy crosses alongside Nigerian dwarf and Lamancha goats in the rolling hills of Western Connecticut, about 20 miles from Waterbury.

The farm itself has deep roots in the region — the historic barn dates to 1850 and once anchored a much larger agricultural operation. Kidding stalls were built on-site using lumber sourced from a Connecticut mill, and the property features rotated pastures where the goats graze through the summer months. Woven wire fencing with an exterior electric wire helps protect the herd from local predators.

David brings hands-on animal experience to the operation, including years working as a veterinary technician and time volunteering at Mystic Aquarium.
