Darkwind Kennel

Darkwind Kennel, Border collies, Wilmer, AL, Mobile County and the Gulf Coast near Mobile. Mark Powley and Robyn Powley are dedicated to raising border collies that blend herding drive with gentle temperaments. Their breeding program follows American Kennel Club guidelines and includes routine health screening for hip, elbow, and eye conditions.

Both breeders hold active membership in the American Kennel Club and participate in regional herding events. Pups grow up in open pastures alongside adult dogs and receive daily enrichment through off-leash play and basic training. Many of their dogs have excelled in local herding trials and community demonstrations, reflecting the kennel’s focus on functional working skills.

Guests often remark on the calm, confident nature of the puppies and the personal attention each one receives from litter to forever home. Puppies stay with their dam and sire until at least eight weeks old, ensuring secure attachment and early socialization.
