Dana Long-terry
Dana Long-terry raises dairy goat crosses in Russellville, Alabama, a small city in the Tennessee Valley region of northwest Alabama, roughly 30 minutes from Florence. LT-Farm is run by Dana alongside her husband Keith and daughter Lauren, and the operation also includes NPIP-inspected chickens and horses.
The herd is dual-registered with both ADGA and AGS, and the farm participates in ADGA production testing, linear appraisal, and showing both bucks and does. Health testing is a consistent priority: the herd has tested negative for CAE, and all incoming animals are required to test negative for Johne's disease as well.
Goats at LT-Farm are fed orchard grass and alfalfa hay, browse pasture freely, receive grain at milking time, and have access to free-choice minerals and fresh water multiple times daily. Kids are dam-raised as a default, with dam-raised does forming the foundation of the breeding program alongside a separate show string that is hybrid-raised. Breeding pairings are selected with deliberate attention to balancing individual strengths across generations, and the program values productive brood does alongside show animals.
