Country Music Miniature Donkeys

Country Music Miniature Donkeys raises miniature Mediterranean donkeys in the rolling Texas Hill Country of Spicewood, about 30 miles west of Austin. Rhetta McAlister and her family are fourth-generation ranchers who have been refining their miniature Mediterranean donkey breeding program since 1989.

The herd is anchored by nationally recognized bloodlines, most notably the National Champion Halter Jack CM's George Jones and his son CM's Garth Brooks, who together have sired more than 25 national champions at halter and performance across the United States, Canada, Europe, and New Zealand. The program maintains a band of approximately 25 carefully selected jennets, each chosen for correct conformation, strong pedigree, and sound disposition.

Foals receive hands-on attention from birth, including haltering, leading, obstacle work, and routine handling of hooves, ears, and mouth, so that each animal is well socialized and ready for the show ring or as a companion by weaning time.
