Circus City Alpacas, run by Richard and Andrea Hammersley, raises alpacas in Peru, Indiana, a small north-central Indiana town known as the "Circus Capital of the World." The farm name is a nod to that local heritage — the Hammerslevs have personally participated in the Peru Amateur Circus, including training a bareback horse act.

The herd has grown from two young females to over thirty animals, with six herd sires representing a variety of colors available for on-farm and outside breedings. All animals are registered, microchipped, DNA typed, and BVD tested.
