Circle R Ranch/ Sandy

Circle R Ranch, run by Sandy and Billy Rutherford near Comanche, Texas, has been raising AKC miniature schnauzers since 1998, making it one of the longer-running miniature schnauzer programs in the state. A second family location, Circle R Sidney, was established in 2004, and both operate under the same standards as family-owned and operated kennels in the Comanche County area, roughly two hours southwest of Fort Worth.

All breeding dogs are Embark DNA tested and cleared, and each puppy receives a vet check before going home along with a two-year genetic health guarantee covering life-threatening conditions. Puppies are microchipped, kept current on vaccinations starting at six and eight weeks, and leave with AKC registration papers.

The dogs live as personal pets, with climate-controlled accommodations and room to run on the ranch property. Early socialization is a built-in part of daily life, and puppies are introduced to paper training and a doggy door before placement.
