Chatterbox Farm

Chatterbox Farm, Scottish Highland cattle, Wilmington, Ohio, in southern Ohio near Cincinnati, nurtures a small herd on rolling pastures. Michelle Stroud has more than a decade of hands-on experience and participates in national cattle registry programs while following industry health-testing guidelines.

Animals graze freely across mixed grassland and are handled daily from birth to build calm temperaments and ease of management. All animals have access to fresh water and shaded areas throughout the day. Calving is timed for spring pasture growth and calves remain with their dams until weaning to promote natural social development.

The farm’s pasture-rotation practices support soil health and biodiversity, reflecting a careful approach to land stewardship. Maintaining a compact herd size allows attention to individual animals and steady improvements in structure and temperament. The facility includes a simple barn and seasonal shelters to keep animals comfortable in all weather.
