Central Florida Shepherds

Central Florida Shepherds raises German shepherd dogs on a family farm in Bushnell, Florida, in the heart of Sumter County about an hour north of Orlando. Stephen Nathanson runs the program alongside his family, and the dogs share their property with horses, goats, donkeys, and chickens.

The program is AKC registered and breeds both long coat and stock coat German shepherd dogs, with a stated priority of placing the breed's health and temperament above all else. Every adult dog in the program undergoes a full range of health testing, including OFA and FCI evaluations for hip and elbow dysplasia as well as degenerative myelopathy screening, before being included in the breeding program.
