Celtic Farms

Celtic Farms, Scottish highland cattle, Elizabeth, CO, is a family farm in Elbert County on the Front Range near Denver. Shauna Stovall has more than a decade of experience caring for this hardy breed and follows health protocols recommended by the American Highland Cattle Association. Each member of the herd receives annual veterinary exams, genetic screening and rotational grazing on native grasses to support hoof health and forage diversity. All breeding animals are registered with the association to ensure traceable pedigrees.

The cattle are handled gently from birth to build calm temperaments, and calves spend early weeks alongside their mothers on pasture. Many of the farm’s animals have placed at local agricultural shows for muscle tone and structure, reflecting careful breeding choices and consistent training. Celtic Farms also practices conservation grazing to maintain soil health and natural habitat across its pastures.
