Carrie Ellis

Carrie Ellis breeds Nigerian dwarf goats in central Indiana near Indianapolis. She has more than a decade of experience and is a member of the American Dairy Goat Association. Her herd lives in pasture-based environments with access to shelter and daily social interactions among does, kids, and bucks.

Kids are gently weaned on a careful schedule that supports healthy development and routine hoof trimming and disbudding following industry best practices. On the farm, emphasis is placed on gentle handling from birth and varied terrain for exercise. Ellis maintains detailed records for each doe and buck, ensuring traceable pedigrees and consistent health monitoring. The farm has been family-run since 2010 and focuses on sustainable pasture management, a balanced nutrition plan with alfalfa, grains, and trace minerals, and high-quality milk production for local artisan farms. Regular biosecurity checks and vaccination schedules help protect the herd.
