Cactus Patch Minis

Cactus Patch Minis raises miniature cows, including mini Highpark, mini Highland and mini belted Galloway cattle, in Karval, CO. The operation sits on the Stone Ranch on Colorado's Eastern Plains, in Lincoln County east of Colorado Springs.

The ranch is a small, family-run operation that worked with full-sized cattle before adding miniature cows to its program. Alongside the purebred lines, Cactus Patch Minis also raises mini crosses. Each year brings a new calf crop, and records of calves sold go back several seasons. Mini bulls and mini horses are also part of the ranch.

Karval is a quiet, wide-open part of the state, and the open plains country is part of what keeps ranching central to life there. Cattle are herd animals that do best with steady routines, good forage, fresh water and room to move, so anyone considering cattle should plan for those needs. Cactus Patch Minis offers people in eastern Colorado and nearby a local place to find miniature cattle raised on a working ranch.
