Bruskotter Farms

Bruskotter Farms raises miniature cross cattle in Oxford, Ohio, in the southwest corner of the state about 35 miles northwest of Cincinnati. Karri Bruskotter runs the operation as a part-time family farm, with a focus on mini belties — a cross between belted Galloway cattle and a naturally smaller breed such as Dexters.

The program traces back to 2003, when the farm got its start in Taylorsville, Kentucky, before eventually settling in Ohio. The herd grew from three original purebred belted Galloway brood cows, and the operation has since expanded to a 50-plus-acre property where the cattle have access to grass pastures, wooded areas, and a creek. The animals are raised without grain supplementation, relying entirely on pasture and natural shelter found in the woods.

The miniature cross cattle for sale in Oxford, Ohio typically measure between 36 and 46 inches at the hip. Crossbreeding belted Galloways with Dexters is central to the program, as both breeds were originally developed as dual-purpose homesteader cattle capable of providing both milk and meat.
