Brewster Alpacas
Brewster Alpacas raises huacaya alpacas in Bowden, Alberta, about an hour south of Red Deer in central Alberta. Owner Kelly Brewster is a second-generation alpaca breeder whose parents, Jim and Margaret Brewster, were part of the founding group of investors that brought the first alpacas into Canada, giving the farm more than three decades of experience behind it.
The Brewster family treats its herd as more than livestock, weaving the animals into daily farm life and, for Kelly's daughters Sydney and Lily, an upbringing shaped by hands-on animal care much the same as Kelly's own childhood. For anyone searching for alpacas for sale in Alberta, the program reflects a multigenerational commitment rooted in the earliest days of the Canadian alpaca industry.
Breeding decisions at Brewster Alpacas center on fibre quality, conformation, and the consistency with which those traits carry forward through cria. The herd includes animals registered with both the AOA and the CLAA, and the farm has drawn on well-regarded herdsire genetics, including lines from Snowmass and select champion-pedigreed sires, to build a foundation herd focused on density, handle, and type consistency across generations.
